The Matildas are coming to Geelong.
The Australian women will be playing a friendly against Chiese Taipei at Kardinia Park on December 7.
It is one of two friendly matches to be played in Victoria, with the second on December 4 in Melbourne.
The Tillies have not played in Geelong since 2017, where they beat China.
The Matildas played in Melbourne in February for an Olympic qualifer against Uzbekistan, selling out Docklands Stadium and winning 10-0.
It will be the first time the squad has played in Australia since parting ways with coach Tony Gustavsson, following their poor showing in Paris.
Geelong Mayor Trent Sullivan welcomed the news.
“Lie all Australians, our community has been proud and excited about the Matildas journey, which is why we have been so keen to get them playing in Geelong,” Cr Sullivan said.
“This coup cements Geelong’s status as a proud and passionate sport-loving community.
“The match will be fantastic for our hospitality, accommodation and tourism businesses in the region.”
There are no official details just yet on when tickets will go on sale.
