A local tourism group has released its ten-year vision for the region.
Tourism Greater Geelong and the Bellarine says the Sustainable Destination Master Plan is about helping strengthen and build a more resilient visitor economy.
Executive Director Tracy Carter said the plan would see the region recognised as an active outdor region.
“While we work as one, we know and appreciate that our region is made up of very distinct, smaller destinations, each offering their own uniqueness and draw of visitors,” Ms Carter said.
“Our plan celebrates this, aiming to deliver a resilient, sustainable and valued visitor economy that celebrates the distinct character and identity of the region.”
A series of targets include increasing visiting days by 32 per cent to 3.4 million, and increasing visitor spending in the region to $2.1 billion.
