Two CFMEU officials, including a St Albans Park man, have been charged as part of a police investigation into an alleged data breach.
Detectives from Taskforce Hawk have been investigating the breach, allegedly involving a former CFMEU member, and subsequent sharing of personal information and photos.
They executed a search warrant at a local home on Thursday morning, arresting a 37-year-old man.
He has been charged with five counts of distributing an intimate image, and has been bailed to face Geelong Magistrates’ Court in January, 2027.
A 46-year-old man from Westbury has also been charged with the same offences, and will face Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court in January.
Police say a mobile phone was also seized.
The matter was first reported to police in June, with information being distributed alleged to include intimate images.
Detectives from the Cybercrime Squad have been investigating with Taskforce Hawk.
