An additional seven V/Line services have been put in place to help Cats fans get to the G for the side’s prelim final against Hawthorn.
On the way to the game, an extra service will leave Waurn Ponds at 3.50pm, while there will be two additional trains leaving Wyndham Vale at 5.19pm and 5.46pm.
Meanwhile, two trains that usually depart from South Geelong will instead originate from Waurn Ponds at 3.20pm and 3.41pm to give passengers more options.
There will then be four extra services on the way home, departing Southern Cross Station at 11.12pm, 11.21pm, 11.45pm and 12.03am, all travelling to Waurn Ponds.
In addition to the extra services, there will be three trains that run with bonus carriages.
There were only five extra services a few weeks ago when Cats fans made their way to Geelong’s qualifying final with Brisbane, and a number of locals shared safety concerns with the local council after overcrowding on their journey.
V/Line has also put in extra services for the Collingwood and Brisbane prelim, for locals who might not be Geelong fans.
There will be additional trains at 1.31pm and 1.51pm on Saturday to help people get to the game, and at 8.44pm, 9pm and 9.30pm to ease congestion on the trip home.
