A severe weather warning remains in place for the Geelong region for damaging winds.
Gusts of more than 60km/h have been recorded at Aireys Inlet during the night.
The Bureau of Meteorology says gusts of up to 90km/h are possible over the Otways, while damaging winds average 60 to 70km/h may be recorded in coastal areas.

Conditions are expected to ease in the state’s west later today, and over central areas including Geelong this evening.
Geelong is in for showers and a top of just 12 degrees.
