A woman has been charged after an allegedly stolen car was tracked from South Melbourne to Norlane last week.

The vehicle was followed to Norlane after two people were seen loitering in a suspicious manner on Friday, a man getting out of the car and attempting to carjack four different vehicles.

“It is alleged the vehicle drove into a hardware store carpark on the Princes Highway, before it nearly collided with a woman getting a pram out of her car,” police said in a statement.
