Wyndham City Councillor Jasmine Hill will be suspended from duty for four months, after the state’s Councillor Conduct Panel found her guilty of serious misconduct.
Cr Hill has reportedly been accused of bullying, with alleged complaints from other Councillors suggesting she has been disrespectful toward other Wyndham Council staff.
“The Panel has found Cr Hill guilty of serious misconduct and suspended her from being a Councillor for a period of four months, effective from the day after the matter is tabled at a Council meeting,” a statement from the Mayor of Wyndham City Jennie Barrera read.
“A Council Meeting will be held next Monday, 11th December 2023 and Cr Hill will therefore be suspended from next Tuesday, 12th December 2023.
“Staff have the right to feel safe when coming to work and this is a priority for Wyndham Councillors and the CEO.
“This has been a very difficult process for all involved however the utmost priority is ensuring a safe and respectful workplace for our staff whilst we represent the best interests of the community.”
Councillor Hill and Wyndham City have been contacted for comment.
