Two Wyndham men have been arrested over a frightening incident in Melbourne. in which a 76-year-old man was shot after answering a knock at his front door.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower body after opening the foor of his Middle Park home just before 8pm on August 17.
He was taken to hospital suffering from what police described as non-life threatening injuries.
Police later said they believed the attack was a case of mistaken identity, and the wounded man was most likely not the intended target.
Two men were take into custody during raids on properties at Tarneit and Truganina on Wednesday.
24-year-old Ismail Abdi, of Tarneit, faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday night. He did not apply for bail.
A 23-year-old man from Wyndham was interviewed and released pending further inquiries.
