Allegations of Domestic Abuse
Australian singer Vanessa Amorosi opened up in a powerful 60 Minutes interview about the abuse she and her mother allegedly suffered at the hands of her late father. She described years of trauma that deeply affected her personal relationships and emotional well-being.
Legal Battle With Her Mother
The interview also touched on Amorosi’s highly publicised court case against her mother, Joyleen, involving ownership of two properties in Victoria. Though Amorosi purchased them with her music earnings, they were held in a trust under both names. Disputes over control of the assets led to a painful legal showdown.
Court Ruling and Financial Outcome
In August 2024, the Victorian Supreme Court ruled in Amorosi’s favour, granting her full ownership of the properties. However, she was ordered to pay her mother nearly $870,000, and her mother was given 60 days to vacate one of the homes.
