To celebrate the final season of Stranger Things streaming on Netflix, KFC Australia is taking fans on a mind-bending journey straight to the heart of Hawkins, Indiana, and introducing a taste sensation that’s an 11/10. Prepare to descend into the Upside Down with the opening of the world’s first subterranean KFC, ‘Hawkins Fried Chicken’, nestled deep within Sydney’s abandoned Wynyard Station Tunnels.
But the deliciously strange news doesn’t stop there, because KFC is bringing the brand-new Upside Down Double to restaurants nationwide for a limited time from 2nd December.
What’s a trip to the Upside Down without a taste of something truly out of this world?

Introducing the brand-new Upside Down Double – a feed so uniquely delicious, it could only come from another dimension.
This masterpiece features two of KFC’s iconic Original Crispy fillets, sandwiching a soft bun in the middle, layered with crispy bacon, cheese, and a generous serving of KFC’s brand-new, Stranger Sauce.
It’s a flavour combination that’ll transport tastebuds straight to the Upside Down, and attendees at Hawkins Fried Chicken will be among the very first to try it before its nationwide launch.
Stepping into Hawkins Fried Chicken is like walking through a rift in time and space.

Vanessa Rowed, CMO at KFC Australia, commented: “We’re absolutely thrilled to unite the passionate KFC and Stranger Things fandoms, not only through our immersive Hawkins Fried Chicken experience, but also by bringing the deliciously strange Upside Down Double to restaurants nationwide. This unique creation innovates with KFC’s iconic flavours, perfectly reflecting our partnership with Stranger Things alongside our joy in bringing fans unforgettable taste experiences.”
Fans will also be able to purchase exclusive Stranger Things x KFC merch from the KFC website, including denim jackets, t-shirts, caps and jumpers. Proceeds from merchandise sales will go directly to the KFC Youth Foundation, which supports youth mental health and wellbeing through its charity partners, ReachOut Australia and Black Dog Institute.
