The Bellarine Peninsula’s first all-abilities baseball program is underway.
The Bears Baseball club is holding open sessions between 11am and 12pm on Sundays during Term 3.
Vice-President Matt Connell said for many participants, it would be the first time they had put on a sporting uniform.
“There’s people out there that haven’t had an opportunity before to try out a team sport,” he said.
Mr Connell said feedback from parents and carers showed the initiative was worth it.
“They’re very pleased their kids or people they’re looking after or caring for are getting an opportunity to try on a uniform, try on a glove, run around the bases and have a go.”
