CFA crews are responding to a pizza shop fire in Portarlington, with surrounding houses told to be aware of smoke around the town.
The blaze broke out on Newcombe Street around 6.45am Wednesday morning.
Firefighters arrived to find large volumes of smoke coming from the building, a community information message was issued a short time later for smoke in the area.
CFA said the incident was deemed under control at 7:52 am, with crews remaining on scene throughout the morning.
A crime scene has been set up on Karoomba Avenue, a 27-year-old inside the home was evacuated and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
