The Golden Plains shire will consult the VEC on how to fill the seat left vacant by the resignation of Cr Brett Cunningham.
Cunningham announcing he was resigning from the role with immediate effect.
The former mayor saying he was prioritising the health and well being of himself and his family in leaving the role.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the amazing and dedicated council staff, senior management, directors, and past and present chief executive officers for the continued support, guidance and assistance provided to me from the first day of becoming a councilor,” he said.
Acting Mayor Cr Helena Kirby thanked Cunningham for his service to the community.
“Council acknowledges and appreciates Cr Cunningham’s contributions to both Council and the wider community,” she said.
