Geelong house prices rise despite national fall

Despite some concerns about the housing market, Geelong seems to be the right place to buy.

House prices in regional Victoria have fallen slightly during July statewide.

Geelong however has recorded a point-two per cent increase while annual growth has been at two-and-a-half per cent.

Data from the PropTrack Home Price Index shows the median value of property’s now at 765-thousand dollars.

Across the nation house prices dropped by 0.4% in July, while Victoria excluding the Melbourne market Victoria saw a drop of 0.1%.

Melbourne saw a drop of 0.4% across the month.

National outlook is expecting the price of houses to continue to fall for the remainder of the year.
