RSPCA Victoria has released their latest Animal Cruelty Report, with Geelong coming in at the top of the list for total number of reports.
436 animal cruelty reports were made across the local government area in the 2025/26 financial year, down from 560 in the 12 months prior.
Geelong was ranked 36th when looking at the number of reports per 1,000 population though, at 1.48.
We saw an increase in the number of animals seized or surrendered up from 56 in 2024/25 to 60.
Wyndham sat third overall for reports with 397, ranking 56th for reports comparative to population size.
Queenscliffe came in at the opposite end of the scale with just two reports over the last financial year.
The Surf Coast saw 27, while Golden Plains had 40.
