Avalon has recorded its April rainfall total in just over 12 hours.
The local airport has officially recorded 44.4mm since Monday afternoon, the monthly average is 39.1mm.
Heavy rain also hit Geelong, which has had almost 41 mm in less than 24 hours, while Werribee has had over 50mm.
A severe weather warning issued during the night for heavy rain and damaging winds has been lifted for Geelong and the Surf Coast, however the region is still forecast to have showers today.
Meantime, the water quality at beaches in Corio and Port Phillip Bays is listed as poor today.
The EPA warns swimmers not to get into the water, saying it is not suitable for recreational activities due to the heavy rain.
