Deakin University has appointed an Acting Vice Chancellor.
Professor Susan Elliott will start on October 7, and remain in the role at the Geelong institution until a permanent appointment is made.
Chancellor Claire Higgins said Professor Elliott has led a large university through a tranistion before.

“She brings a deep understanding of the sector,” Chancellor Higgins said,.
‘The recruitment of our next Vice-Chancellor is underway and continues on its current timeline.
“Susan’s role is to lead the University through that period, and to ensure the work across Deakin continues through to the arrival of our eighth Vice-Chancellor.’
Applications for the Vice-Chancellor role close on 23 September.
