Prisoners at Lara’s Marngoneet Correctional Centre angry over the living pressures inside the facility have taken strike action.
The reports the inmates at the medium-security jail were not happy at the price hike of some canteen items.
However the strike was called off when management threatened to shut the canteen.

The Department of Justice and Community Safety told the Herald Sun the issue was safely resolved and the prison is operating as normal.
Prisoners are paid between $3.95 and $8.95 each day.
