A Belmont man has died in hospital, a week after a crash in the state’s west.
Emergency services were called to Garvoc on July 5 to reports of a collision between a white Mitsubishi Triton and a grey Toyota Hilux towing a trailer.
Police say the collision caused the trailer to snap off and continue 30 metres along the road.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 61-year-old from Belmont, was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He passed away on Wednesday.
The driver of the Toyota, a 50-year-old man from Garvoc, was not injured.
Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
One hundred and sixty-four people have now died on Victoria’s roads this year, 39 more than this time in 2022.
