Police have renewed their appeal to find a Queenscliff man missing for more than 55 years.
Noel Ford was planning a road trip from the Bellarine Peninsula to Townsville in North Queensland, with stops including Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.
The 34-year-old set off in December 1967.
He stopped in Sydney and caught up with a fellow Army Major at a hotel before leaving.
His family raised the alarm several days later when he failed to meet up with family in Queensland.
He has not been seen or heard from since.
NSW police say one theory is Noel may have potentially drowned at Bondi Beach but there have been no human remains found.
Brother Jeff now hoping someone will come forward with any information on his brother, would be 89 today.
“Because I idolised him so much, after he disappeared I want to try and find answers,” he said.
Anyone with information is being urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Noel’s story has been highlighted during Missing Persons Week.
