A fur seal rescued off Barwon Heads has been released back into the wild.
The marine mammal had been found in local waters with cargo netting around its neck.
He rescued by Melbourne Zoo staff, putting on weight and able to swim for long periods of time.

The subantarctic seal now has an identifying tag and is set to swim back to his home.
