Geelong’s council has provided an update on the potential for future live sites screening the Socceroos’ World Cup matches.

The City of Greater Geelong will again team up with the Victorian Government to deliver an activation for Australia’s third group stage match, when they take on Paraguay at 12pm on Friday 26 June.

No early morning site for the second clash though, with the council encouraging people to watch on from local hospitality venues as the Socceroos take on the USA at 5am on Saturday 20 June.

It follows a successful family-friendly event for the opening match, with an estimated 500 people attending the screening at Johnstone Park.

Further activations will be considered once the group stage wraps up, when it becomes more clear where Australia’s likely to finish.
