An increased focus on night patrols across the Surf Coast has led police to find two drink drivers over the past few days.Surf Coast Police say they’ve been focusing their efforts on patrolling back roads during night shift.
A 69-year-old man from Modewarre was found drink driving at around 3am Sunday morning, returning an alleged reading of .137, nearly three times the legal limit.
The man was fined $817 and lost his licence for 13 months.
Meanwhile, the following night a 33-year-old woman from Anglesea was also reportedly found drink driving, police say they pulled her over at about 11pm when she returned a reading of .057.
Officers said this was the woman’s third drink driving offense in 15 years, fining her $577 and suspending her licence for six months.
