Train line suspended at Lara

No trains after Lara this morning as more V/Line woes hit the region.

Geelong commuters will have to switch to a bus at Lara and travel to Werribee, where they can switch to a train.

“Passengers travelling to Southern Cross should board a replacement coach from Lara, Wyndham Vale or Tarneit to connect with Metro Trains services at Werribee or Laverton,” a statement said.

“Passengers travelling to Waurn Ponds from Melbourne should take a Metro Trains service to Werribee or Laverton to connect with coach services.”

Work is underway to fix and equipment fault.

“Transport Victoria’s signals team is monitoring conditions in the area and will adjust traffic lights to assist with coach movements.

“Motorists are asked to be vigilant for extra pedestrians and buses around train stations on the Werribee and Geelong lines.

“Crews will investigate the issue and work to restore services as quickly and safely as possible.”

A timeline has not been made clear for the return of trains on the line.
