V/Line says coaches will be in action for some time.
“Coaches are replacing trains between Waurn Ponds and Wyndham Vale due to a rail equipment fault between Lara and Manor Junction,” a statement said.”
“Passengers travelling toward Southern Cross are advised to board a replacement coach between Waurn Ponds and Wyndham Vale with trains continuing to operate between Wyndham Vale and Southern Cross to complete their journey.
“Passengers travelling towards Waurn Ponds are advised to board V/Line services to Wyndham Vale and then a replacement coach between Wyndham Vale and Waurn Ponds to complete their journey.
“We anticipate coaches to be in operation until further notice.”
EARLIER
V/Line has again been plunged into chaos on the Geelong line.
Services are being held between Lara and Manor Junction due to an equipment fault.
V/Line provided an update around 7.30.
“Services are currently held due to a rail equipment fault between Lara and Manor Junction,” a release said.
“An alternate travel plan will follow within 10 minutes.
“We are assessing the situation and will advise when trains will resume.
“In Melbourne, coaches will arrive and depart from the Southern Cross Station coach terminal located on Spencer Street, opposite Little Bourke Street.”
