Wheelie bin death: woman formally identified

The body found in a bin at Buckley has been formally identified as a 35-year-old Point Cook woman.

Chaithanya ‘Swetha’ Madhagani’s remains were discovered on Saturday afternoon at Buckley, near Geelong.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

Detectives are still hoping to speak to her 38-year-old husband Ashok Raj Varikuppala, who is believed to still be overseas.

It is understood he took the couple’s young son to India and left the boy with Ms Madhagani’s parents.

Police are continuing to ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
