wet windyGeelong is set for an early taste of spring with the mercury set to reach 20 for the first time in months – but residents in some coastal areas are being warned for dangerous winds.

The last time the city made it into the 20s was back in May when the temperature topped out at 22.

The BoM has issued a Severe Weather Warning for parts of the Otways and the Surf Coast, especially between Apollo Bay and Anglesea, with winds of between 50 and 60km/h and possible damaging gusts of up to 90km/h.

The wind should ease this afternoon but will redevelop when a cold front moves through on Friday morning.
