A woman has been stabbed in an alleged burglary in Belmont.
Police have been told a man forced his way into a Donald Street home just before 6.30am Thursday before stabbing a woman.
He then allegedly started a fire in the property before taking off on a bike.
A 23-year-old man from Whittington was arrested nearby.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries in a stable condition.
Other people in the home, including two children, were not hurt.
Police say the people are believed to be known to each other.
