Charges over fatal hit-run

A Wyndham man has been charged in relation to a fatal hit run in Melbourne’s west.

A 27-year-old man died after allegedly being struck by a car in Derrimut on Sunday morning.

Police allege the car was dumped nearby before the driver took off.

A 36-year-old from Wyndham Vale handed himself into police.

He has since been charged with faiing to stop and help, driving while disqualified, driving an unregistered vehicle, using false plates and bail-related offences.

The man has been remanded to face court in May

Detectives are still wanting to talk to anyone who may have been in the area of Boundary Road between 3.30 and 4am on Sunday and may have information on the collision.
