Geelong mayor Stretch Kontelj says proposed works on Moorabool Street will be an opportunity to beautify the town.
Council committing to an upgrade of lighting on the street, as well as an art installation made of recycled glass.
He says it’s how we begin to improve the CBD.
“It’s a step in the right direction,” he said.
“With the convention centre opening soon, we will be seeing more people in town, and I want the CBD to feel open and welcoming.”
Kontelj said with more business opening and investing on the street, council also had to do its part.
“We are seeing investment in the area,” he said.
“And that means we have to do our part to. If we see work to improve the area, we need to put our own invetsment into improving the area as well.”
