It comes after a seal in South Australia tested positive for the strain over the weekend.

The City of Greater Geelong says it is aware of the seal, but is following DEECA’s directions.

The council is again urging locals not to touch any sick or dead wildlife, and instead report it to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotlineon 1800 675 888.
