An inmate is recovering after being taken to hospital following an incident at Lara’s Barwon Prison.
Ambulance Victoria says it responded to an incident around 3pm Tuesday.
A man in his 30s was taken to hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries.

No other prisoners or staff were injured.
Corrections Victoria says it takes any assault very seriously, and refers all allegations to police for investigation.
