The City of Greater Geelong says it will not be enforcing a series of parking fines due to a software issue.

Executive Director of City Life Anthony Basford said the council recently reviewed its infringement system, identifying an issue that saw duplicate infringement numbers being assigned.

“While the infringements were correctly issued, the duplication of infringement numbers means we will not enforce them,” he said.

“As soon as Council became aware of the issue, we undertook a thorough investigation to determine the cause and extent of the problem.

“We have also implemented measures to prevent this issue from occurring again.”
